ABOUT ERIN

Erin has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since 2001.
With a background in biology and a year of dental school, she approached her studies in Chinese medicine with a healthy dose of skepticism. Driven by a need to understand how and why things work, she bombarded her teachers with questions about mechanisms of action and craved organized flowcharts. Their consistent response: “Just wait until you start clinical practice—you’ll see it works.”

And they were right. Erin quickly saw the efficacy of Chinese medicine firsthand. Time and again, she observed that carefully chosen acupuncture protocols—based on symptom patterns and tongue and pulse diagnostics—succeeded where other modalities had fallen short. Her skepticism gave way to curiosity, and her desire to dig deeper into the medicine grew.

Through further study in Five-Element Acupuncture, she has honed the skills of observation and enjoys the detective work that each case requires. So it is never just symptom management; Erin is always delving deeper to address the root cause.

Above all, Erin is committed to results. If something isn’t working, she appreciates collaboration with other healthcare providers. She believes that complex cases often benefit most from a team approach and an openness to multiple modalities.

Erin completed her doctorate in integrative oncology and pain management in 2010 and her work with integrative oncology has been expanding over the last ten years. She is a member of the Society of Integrative Oncology special interest group in acupuncture, and a peer reviewer for the journal Medical Acupuncture.
